This was achieved by leveraging secondary research on college admissions and enrollment trends, complemented by succinct interviews and surveys with players and their families. We engages the players in rapid prototyping and used as much available data and insights to quickly refine our digital player cards and educational tools. This efficient methodology ensured that despite the project's brief duration, we gathered vital insights to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Key focus areas
1
How can we make coding and design principles more accessible and exciting for underprivileged youth?
2
How can the app interface be optimized to encourage frequent use and learning?
3
What features could enable easier sharing of achievements and player cards?

Educational Support
Because of the varied levels of exposure to design and coding players need resources that introduce the fundamentals of coding and design in a simplified manner with learning materials tailored to their experience level, ensuring they grasp basic concepts effectively.
Personal Development Tools
Players require tools that aid in their personal development, both on and off the field. This includes features in the app that help them track progress, set goals, and showcase their skills and achievements, particularly useful for future educational or career opportunities.
Community Engagement
There's a need for the platform and features to enable players to connect with their peers, family, and the broader community. This includes social sharing functionalities, messaging features, and community boards within the app, fostering a sense of belonging and support.
Long-Term Motivation and Guidance
Players need ongoing motivation and guidance to maintain their interest in both sports and technology. This could be addressed through gamification elements in the app, regular updates with new challenges or content, and mentorship or guidance features that provide continuous encouragement and support.

Through rapid yet effective research involving player and family surveys and focused interviews, we crafted a concise player journey and persona for FC Harlem. This data, central to understanding players' educational and developmental needs, informed feature ideation and prioritization, aligning closely with the athletes' goals. Despite the project's tight timeline, our approach ensured impactful design choices for the digital player cards, enhancing both their soccer and academic paths.
Did it happen if there's no footage of it? Being able to share their exploits gives the players the chance to be noticed and recruited.
